Happiness

So, I'm here thinking about how horribly depressing my life is while watching a documentary about some guy who had his leg ripped off by a shark. This guy is going on about how happy he is to be alive and I'm wallowing about absolutely nothing significant so heres a list things that make me happy.

Not having my leg bitten off by a shark
Watching my dog, Chewbacca (Chewy) play with crickets and not hurt them
Mexican food - more specifically Mexican food every Friday with Alex, Randall and Christina.
Music that makes your heart drop and your knees weak
Love
Pretty views and lighting storms
Dancing like a white girl at the club
Soy milk and ice cream
Black Ops
Clothes that make me look like an overweight, homeless man
Daisies
The Drive Ins
Finding the prettiest little piece in the corner of a filthy Op Shop
Drake x10

Hmm, will think of more and get back to this.

Fashion Inspiration

I'm not really sure why I love this video so much. It's either the incredible styling by Aisling Farinella or the portrayal of unconventional, demented love, terrifyingly similar to most of my relationships.

Hello Again.

So, I previously had a blog that I pretty much abandoned and left for dead, areyouschleeping.blogspot.com and I wanted to share snippets of a few posts that pretty much describe me in my entirety.

biological disease of the brain
"So, I think I have some type of disorder. I'm more than obsessed with fashion. I'm around it all day at work, then come home and shop online for hours -when I'm not out physically shopping that is. Apparently, a shopping disorder is not currently recognised by the medical health guide book but may be due to a biological disease in the brain! CRAZY RIGHT? "

I thought I'd leave with a familiar quote that has resonated with me
"...sometimes I'd buy Vogue instead of dinner. I just felt it fed me more."
- CB - SEX AND THE CITY

"..The fashion world lost one of its most influential leaders last week. Alexander McQueen pushed fashion boundaries with overstated elegance and style. He brought gothic inspired couture to a whole new level and his work is considered fearless forms of art and poetry. He inspired runways around the world and will be deeply missed by all."

"Some love stories aren't epic novels, some are short stories, but that doesn't make them any less filled with love."

"Ok, so is it totally gross that I discard my used poppers and food wrappers in my bag and don't empty it for months to come? It sounds way dirtier than it actually is I promise! I just seriously have no where to put my rubbish. "

"The way of love is not a subtle argument. The door there is devastation. You step into love, you fall...head over heels. You ever see someone fall head over heels in love? It’s toxic, sceptic."

and so a new chapter begins...
Exactly a year ago I handed in my resignation to my first job in the fashion industry, working retail at Wanted Shoes. The shoe showings and amazing things I learnt about designers made me realise that I can make my dream of being the next crazy, fabulous fashionsta come true. I was overwhelmed with excitement and mostly petrified at the new role I was undertaking. I kept thinking, "this is my foot in the door, if I can succeed at this, I'm in!" Nothing could have prepared me for what the fashion industry had in store for me, selling, designing, marketing - I did it all. Who would have thought I'd end up putting my years worth of uni-taught photography skills to use? Another year later, with what feels like a brain full of knowledge, I decided that I wanted to see more, learn and gain all the experience humanly possible while I'm still so young. I can't wait to see what Shilla has in store for me.
Thank you Ladakh for being the door that gave me the chance to dip my toes in.
